GS1 Sync Master Data Service - German Video Version
Explainer Video in Two Language Variants
For the standardization organization GS1 Austria, I had the opportunity to visually implement an exciting explainer video that succinctly presents the Master Data Service GS1 Sync. The focus is on a clear, easily understandable presentation. The special feature: The video is completely free of voiceover text. With short on-screen keywords and visual elements, it demonstrates how GS1 Sync works and what possibilities it offers in 75 seconds – in both a German and an English version.
We follow a stylized apple juice from the apple harvest, through production to quality assurance, and finally to sale or use in retail, gastronomy, or digital platforms. The video illustrates step by step the advantages of GS1 Sync:
- Capturing product data: At the beginning, the apple juice is produced, and its data, such as marketing information and legal details, are centrally entered into the GS1 Sync platform.
- Quality assurance: Here, around 200 attributes are closely examined to ensure that data quality remains consistently high – a proud 97%!
- Benefits for retail: Through centralized data storage, retailers can utilize this information for online shops, shelf planning, and other purposes.
The video concludes with a fitting ending, showcasing the certified apple juice as a finished product. The simple and charming animation conveys the central message: GS1 Sync simplifies and secures the entire data flow.

The implementation of this project and the collaboration with the wonderful GS1 Austria team was a lot of fun. It’s a super exciting topic that (even though many may not know it) shapes our everyday lives and contributes to the fact that many services and sales areas can function as well as we have come to expect today. I am pleased to have helped make the great service of GS1 Austria visible.
