The Postdoc Conference at the University of Vienna was a wonderful opportunity for me to visually capture exciting ideas and discussions surrounding the questions, needs, and challenges of Postdocs and to dive into the topic. The conference took place on June 10th in the beautiful Sky Lounge of the university with a view over all of Vienna. I was there live, and my pen barely stood still – so many interesting impulses!
I found the vision of Vice-Rector Manuela Baccarini, to support Postdocs with tailored career offerings, particularly inspiring. A definite highlight was the statement “Being a Postdoc is not a Career” – a strong message. The international best-practice examples from London and Leuven also impressed me and provided discussion material, which I made visually tangible along with the presented concepts. The discussions about the situation in Austria and the political framework conditions also showed how much potential this topic holds. I captured all these ideas in my visuals and hope they help to make the University of Vienna’s vision for Postdocs vivid and lively.

A special highlight: the graphic recording images were printed on-site as flyers for the participants as soon as they were finished, so they could discuss the images during breaks and take them home as a keepsake at the end. A big thank you again to the organizing team: it was a dream to work with you and a real joy to be part of this project!
