The Village & Urban Renewal is committed to regional and municipal development in Lower Austria. It supports as a process facilitator, funding guide, moderator, and consultant, as well as a point of contact for municipalities and regions. In 2024, the Village & Urban Renewal set out to find those people who truly make village life worth living. These individuals were honored as Village Heroes.
At the Village & Urban Forum on Friday, June 14, 2024, in Reinsberg, over 800 visitors attended, including more than 100 Village Heroes from all over Lower Austria, who were nominated for this award by their municipalities due to their commitment. There was not only fantastic musical accompaniment from regional orchestras but also exciting discussion rounds and lectures, where attendees could draw inspiration from best practice examples. I visually documented the event and captured it in images. These were used not only on-site as a summary but also later for reporting and a booklet, where one can read about the event again.
